2008 Board of Directors

Russell Morrissey |
Russell Morrissey
As the owner of EN World and the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards, Russ
decided to step aside and let other people do all the work this year! In
reality, all the credit for this year's awards goes to Denise Robinson
and the excellent team she put together. Russ is responsible for the
overall direction of the awards and their long term goals. |

Jeff Ranger |
Jeff Ranger has been gaming for 20-ish
years, and has dabbled in writing both wildly unsuccessful RPG
supplements and moderately interesting magazine articles at various
times. His tutelage under the late Nigel Findley built his ego to the
point where he accepted a contract to co-write the GURPS Talislanta
project for a fledgling WotC.
It was, for a variety of reasons, horrible; and WotC generously offered
to pay a "Kill Fee" to not have it published. They also offered an
option for payment that involved double the cash owed Jeff to be paid in
company stock if he preferred (it seemed they had a little project
coming down the pipe they truly believed in called Magic the Gathering).
He took the cash. |

Denise Robinson |
Cherished for her organizational talents and modesty, she is proud of
her collection of friends in cool places. Although Denise likes to think
of herself as a fantastic schmoozer, she suffers from an inability to
remember faces, so will remain a hack. She is happy to return to the
ENnie Awards for her third year. At the moment she is playing in a
Cyberpunk (2020/Homebrew) campaign with her partner and friends, and in
Warhammer FRP, Eberron and Living Arcanis campaigns with her kids and
partner. Her gaming credits include the production of award-winning
books like Portable Hole Full of Beer.
She's a pant-wearing, Irish dancing modern primitive living in rural
Eastern Ontario. She fights crime. |

that preserve the heritage of the hobby while bringing about innovations
that keep "the game" fresh. |

Zachary Houghton |
Zachary Houghton, Zachary The First (Many)
USA
I've been gaming since 1993, although the games I played early on tended
to be
those from the 80s. I started out with Palladium Fantasy, and soon
branched out to
many different titles, playing in memorable sessions of TMNT, Rules
Cyclopedia D&D,
Classic Traveller, Ghostbusters, Rifts, Marvel FASERIP, and more. Since
then,
favorites of mine have included d20 (various incarnations), Truth &
Justice,
Rolemaster, HARP, In Harm's Way, Roma Imperious, Iron Gauntlets, Burning
Wheel,
GURPS 3e, Delta Green, Artesia, and many more.
To me, the true mark of success for a RPG product is not how pretty it
may look, or how many shelves it sits on, but rather, how many tables it
is played at, and how much inspiration and enjoyment it brings to gaming
tables. |

RPG systems, he looks forward to culling through this year's products to
find the best of the best. |

2008 Staff
|

Kennon Bauman, Ceremony Coordinator |
A dedicated gamer
since he first saw an ad for Dungeons and Dragons on the back of a comic
book, Kennon C. Bauman is a player, a GM, and only incidentally a
professional writer and editor for one of the largest employers in the
United States. When not otherwise occupied, Kennon also teaches adults
critical thinking and structured analysis. Kennon has been involved with
the ENnies since 2007; this is his first year as Ceremony Coordinator. |

Mik Nichols, Booth Coordinator |
Mik Nichols has
been gaming since his eighth birthday in 1990. Introduced to Dungeon’s &
Dragon’s by his older cousin he went on to find like minded kids to
start his own adventures. Since then he has attended three Gen Cons and
has helped out with the Ennies in a non-official capacity. This is his
first year on the staff and looks forward to helping out wherever,
whenever needed. |

Michael Morris, Technical Support |
Michael returns to
the ENnies this year providing the code for the voting booths and exit
polls as well as providing invaluable technical and moral support. |

Ryan Nock |
First inspired to
gaming by the kaliya on the cover of the Naturalist's Guide to
Talislanta, Ryan Nock is a line manager for E.N. Publishing, where he
has written and produced over a dozen pdf game products. Currently he is
director of the War of the Burning Sky adventure series, and, like so
many of us, a fledgling novelist. |
