Judge Selection

Choosing the judges early facilitates shipping product and gives them additional time to evaluate each submission.  The winners were announced at the ENnies ceremony at Gen Con Indy on Friday the 15th of August, 2008.

Each judge candidate was asked to answer 10-11 questions about what they bring to the gaming table as a potential judge. Click on "Read more.." for each to see a more detailed bio and platform as well as their answers.

Kennon Bauman

My love of games and gaming was born when I first saw an ad for D&D on the back of a comic book. It wasn't until years later, when introduced to WEGs d6 Star Wars, that I really learned to roll the dice. Choose me! I probably won't destroy you with lasers.

Chris Gath

I have been a Judge five times and a RPG reviewer for seven years.  I promise to treat books equally and not be swayed by flashy colored books or perfect looking hard bounds.  I look at each category and judge a book then solely on those merits.

A gamer for over a quarter of a century and a self-confessed systems-junkie, I have yet to meet a game I wouldn't play once.  Except for one that shall remain nameless, but you can guess what it is.  My philosophy is "Its the players, not the game."

FAQ

Q:  What can I vote for now?

A:  Voting for the 2008 ENnie Awards and the 2009 Judges has been completed.  Voting for the 2009 ENnies will take place in the summer of 2009.

Q:  The voting booth says I voted already, but I didn't yet.

A:  If you are voting from home or work where someone else may have already voted, the IP will be recorded, and no further attempts will be permitted. If this is the case, we suggest you find a friend or relative with Internet who isn't liable to vote and borrow their connection. However sometimes those with dynamic IP numbers may be told they voted even though no-one from their home or workplace did so already. In this case, we recommend waiting a day and trying again. Just remember, even if you do have access to multiple IP addresses, we follow the democratic principle of one person, one vote.
